Get up and running with guided. in minutes! Follow these simple steps to create your first interactive demo, guide, or video.

1. Sign Up for guided. and Install Browser Extension

  • Visit the guided. website and click "Start 14-day Free Trial"

  • Create your account with your work email or a Google account

  • Install the guided. browser extension to be able to record your browser activity

  • Pin the extension for easy access in your browser and click 'Get Started' on the Congratulations window that opens once the extension has been correctly installed. This will take you to your guided. studio.


2. Set Up Your Brand (Optional)


3. Plan Your First Project (Recommended)

  • Decide what you want to demonstrate (e.g., a product feature, a process)

  • Identify the key steps or points you want to highlight

  • Before recording, map out your intended clicks and keystrokes to minimize unnecessary inputs.

    • Each mouse click or keyboard input creates a new slide/step in your recording. Only perform actions essential to your content to create a streamlined recording that takes less time and effort to edit and publish.

  • Use slow, deliberate mouse movements between actions to create cleaner transitions.

  • Do a dry run before the actual recording to familiarize yourself with the process and identify potential stumbling points.


4. Recording Your Content

  • Navigate to the webpage where you'd like to start recording your activities.

  • Click the guided. extension icon in your browser

  • Select "Start Recording"

  • Perform the actions you identified in your plan

  • Click the extension icon again or use Ctrl + E to stop the recording. A new browser tab will open with the guided. studio editor.


5. Edit Your Content

  • In the guided. studio editor, review your recording's output in the tour, guide and video formats

  • Arrange your content into logical steps

  • Add hot spots, tooltips, update the written copy, and add AI-voiceover elements to add polish to your Tour, Guide or Video

  • Learn more about guided. studio's editor for each of the three output formats below:

6. Publish and Share

  • Click "Share" when you're satisfied with your content

  • Sharing Tours include the following options:

    • You can either publish your interactive content on a guided. hosted webpage and share a link with your target audience

    • Embed the content within a webpage with the provided HTML code

    • Export the tour as a Video (.mp4 format)

    • Export as a GIF

  • Sharing Step-by-Step Guides have the following options:

    • You can publish your guide with the provided link

    • Use our Smart Copy feature to paste the contents into a text document

    • Embed it as HTML code within a website

    • Embed it as Markdown code within a website

    • Export as a Video (.mp4 format)

    • Export it as GIF

    • Export as PDF

  • Videos can be exported in 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4k quality formats
